Split Jar is built so that nothing you enter leaves your iPhone unless you choose to send it. This policy explains how.
Nothing. Split Jar has no account, no sign-in, no server, no analytics and no advertising, and it contains no third-party code. The app has no networking code at all: it never sends anything to us or to anyone else.
When you scan or choose a photo of a receipt, the text is recognised on your device by Apple’s built-in text recognition. The photo is not uploaded, and Split Jar does not keep it. Only the recognised text is saved with the split, so you can check it against the items.
Your splits (titles, dates, items, prices, the names you type for people, and tax and tip), the payments you record between people, any templates you save, and your choice of currency. These are kept in the app’s own storage on your iPhone. They are included in your device backup like any other app’s data, if you use backups. Deleting a split removes it, and deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Split Jar shares a summary or a person’s card only when you tap Share and pick where it goes. What happens to it after that is up to the app or person you send it to.
The App Store gives developers aggregated, anonymous statistics such as download counts, depending on your device’s analytics-sharing setting. These never include anything you entered in the app.
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone.
If this policy changes, the date above will change with it.
