Car Crumb is built so that where you park stays with you. This policy explains how.
Nothing. Car Crumb has no account, no sign-in, no server, no analytics and no advertising, and it contains no third-party code. It never sends anything to us.
Car Crumb uses your location only while the app is open: to pin where you parked, to show how far away your car is, and to plan the walk back. It never tracks you in the background. The spot you pin is saved on your iPhone.
The map and walking directions come from Apple Maps, built into iOS. To draw the map, your iPhone downloads map images from Apple. When you ask for the walk back, your current position and your car’s are sent to Apple to work out the route. These requests go to Apple, not to us, and are covered by Apple’s privacy policy. If you choose Open in Apple Maps, the car’s location is handed to the Maps app.
The spot you pinned (its location, the time, your note, a photo if you added one, and any meter timer), the spots you saved, and the parking costs you log. These are kept in the app’s own storage on your iPhone and included in your device backup like any other app’s data, if you use backups. Clearing a spot removes it and its photo, and deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Car Crumb shares your parking costs only when you tap Export CSV and pick where the file goes. What happens to it after that is up to the app or person you send it to.
The App Store gives developers aggregated, anonymous statistics such as download counts, depending on your device’s analytics-sharing setting. These never include anything you entered in the app.
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone.
If this policy changes, the date above will change with it.
