How to play

What happens when I tap a tile?
Its spark flies the way the arrow points, as far as the number on the tile. Every tile it hits fires too, in its own direction. The goal is to find the one tile that sets off the whole board.

Can I see the rules again?
Tap the ⓘ next to a mode on the home screen, or replay the tutorial from Settings (the gear).

Daily

When does a new board come out?
At midnight, your local time. Everyone gets the same board that day.

How is it scored?
One tap scores a perfect 100. Every extra tap scores less, and bigger chains score more.

What are bonus sparks?
Solving the Daily earns bonus sparks for Endless: 3 for a one-tap solve, 2 otherwise, once per day. They go into your paused Endless run, or wait for your next one. You can hold up to 10.

Endless

How do sparks work?
A run starts with 6 sparks and every tap costs one. Clear a stage in one tap to win 2 back, in two taps to win 1. You can win back up to 10. Bonus sparks from the Daily show in gold next to the counter and are used last. When you run out, the run is over.

Why did my Endless board change?
To keep the rankings fair, an Endless board you haven’t tapped yet is swapped for a new one of the same difficulty if you take a screenshot, leave the app or record the screen. A message tells you when this happens. Once you’ve made your first tap, the board stays. While the screen is being recorded or mirrored, Endless boards are hidden. Daily and Storm are never affected.

Can I stop and come back?
Yes. Leave at any time and the run is saved; the home screen offers to resume it. Starting a new run instead asks you to confirm first.

Storm

How does the clock work?
It only counts your thinking time. It stops while the sparks play out and between boards.

What are combo and the perk?
Clearing boards in one or two taps builds your combo, which multiplies your points. Big chains charge the perk; fill it to unlock a heat map that glows where the best taps are.

Player level

What is my player level?
It shows how far you’ve come. You earn XP for finishing things: solving the Daily (150 for a one-tap solve, 100 otherwise), clearing Endless stages (more the higher the stage), finishing Storm runs (more for higher tiers) and setting a new best. Tapping alone never earns XP. Your level doesn’t change the game; it appears on the home screen and next to your name in the rankings. Tap it on the home screen to see your progress to the next level.

Is there a maximum level?
Level 100 is a goal for years of play. After that you keep earning stars.

Rankings

How do I get on the rankings?
Sign in to Game Center in the Settings app. Your best Endless stage and Storm scores are then posted automatically. If you set a best while signed out, it is posted to the all-time rankings the next time you open Fuse signed in.

What is the 3-Day ranking?
A fresh round that starts every three days, so there is always a new race to win. The all-time ranking never resets. Tap any player in the rankings to see their full name.

Other

Can I turn off sound, vibration or effects?
Settings (the gear) has switches for sound, reduced effects and, on iPhone, haptics. Reduced effects is also on whenever your device’s Reduce Motion setting is on.

Do I need an internet connection?
No. Everything but the rankings works offline.

Will my progress move to a new device?
Yes, with a normal backup and restore or a device-to-device transfer. Rankings stay with your Game Center account.
